For instance, it was estimated through a survey that 28% of customer lose interest in shopping online after learning about unexpected shipping costs. Another 12% won’t come any closer to the final stage due to overly complicated checkout process, while 23% customers simply refuse to register in order to complete the purchase.
Research on various demographics also revealed that customers that are kept in the loop for retargeted products have 54% chance of purchasing the once abandoned product in their cart. Customers are always looking for ways to beat the system, and hate to lose an opportunity where free shipping is offered. The research also shows that 24% of shoppers will spend more to become eligible for free shipping offered by the store.
Recently, study on customer behavior has become the top rated topic in R&D of online stores. Many new statistics have surface and show that 55% of customers tend to read online reviews on products before adding them to their carts on course of purchase. The statistics also presented findings on social media preferences of customers. It revealed a staggering percentage of customers that actually rely on social media platforms to remain alert about the latest products they need to purchase.
